For the latest issue of Jungle Magazine, I was lucky enough to interview to designer Rejina Pyo. We talked about her time studying at Central St Martins, to establishing her own brand.
I've included an extract from the interview below:
Pyo’s pieces are wearable and contemporary. Relaxed and elegant, they elude a subtle femininity. For S/S 16 Pyo says she ‘concentrated on separates in unexpected silhouettes, bold prints and details including raw hems and cinching gathers.’ Her pieces give the perfect just thrown on, cool girl vibe.
Pyo styled the pieces on the runway with casual tie back flats and orange lens sunglasses, the looks were simple but significant.
Whilst the brand has evolved from idea to reality, to recognition and success, Pyo explains ‘I always intended to treat the brand like a life-long project – letting it develop naturally.’
Be sure to check out Pyo's pieces at http://rejinapyo.com/ and if you'd like to read the interview, Jungle's stockists are listed on their website, where the magazine is also available to order https://jungle-magazine.co.uk
